Earlier in the week before this insane heat wave came, I was wearing this shirt(dress) like crazy. It's technically not a dress...I was in Intermix and I grabbed the wrong size for this Equipment shirt and it just worked as a dress! I paired it with a NSF sweater, that I wore religiously last Summer; might be doing the same this Summer! The outfit is mostly neutrals but I love the mix of fabrics and texture, plus the pop of metallic.

It's quite funny how sometimes you just don't wear certain pieces of clothes. This month, I haven't been wearing jeans a ton. Except this past weekend, it was pretty much all I wore. On Saturday, I went for a simple look that I love to wear; jeans, tee, and blazer. There are so many different styles that these items come in (edgy,chic,classic...). For me, I tend to stay in the more classic/chic range. A summery color palette was necessary, along with  some of my favorite neutral accessories. I wore a bright Splendid tee, that is insanely soft! Distressed jeans add instant edge to any look.  I topped the look with a crisp, white blazer to make the weekend look more streamlined. For Summer, I tend to gravitate towards colorful, effortless dresses. The majority of dresses in my closet are bright frocks that can be dressed up or down. Last weekend when I was up in Newport, I brought my Sloane Ranger anchor tote with me! Back in March, I hosted a giveaway with Sloane Ranger- don't worry if you didn't win, plenty more giveaways in the future. Ever since I received the bag, I have been using it for weekend trips and days when I'm carrying a lot of stuff. The bag was ideal for my weekend; inside was a mix of school work, sailing clothes and other miscellaneous items. Can we also mention these Madewell shorts?! When I have no idea what to wear, I either go with black and white or stripes. In this case, I went with black and white. I fell in love with this Asos sweater a while back- I have no clue why I haven't shown it on here until now! The sweater is playful yet so easy to wear. To keep the outfit on the lighter side, I paired the sweater with a white collared shirt and a white skirt. I am wearing my favorite shoes too- which you have already seen here, here, and here! As for my hair... I wore it in a low ponytail. That is something I don't do very often- it's good to switch it up!

For a causal weekend look, I always go for stripes. They are super easy when worn with simple shorts or jeans. The first look is more sporty; I love wearing my hair down with a hat (it also helps with a bad hair day!) A.L.C. sweaters are a perfect update to the classic sweater. They have an uneven hem and are slightly cropped. The other look is more simple and classic with boyfriend jeans and nude sandals. To accessorize, I have been wearing my KJP anchor bracelet a ton- especially with stripes. The pop of pink and navy is perfect when I am feeling classic and preppy.This weekend I am in Newport, RI visiting my brother and celebrating Mother's Day. Hope you all have a fun weekend!

Mother's Day is right around the corner- it's on Sunday! For my family, Mother's Day has a double meaning! My mom's birthday is always within the special day! In fact, it's today! Happy Birthday Mom! Thank you for everything you have done, and all your support. I love you so much! For the double celebration, my parents and I are heading up to Newport, RI for my brother's college sailing regatta.

I have put together a selection of items for your special mom. A no-brainer gift is a yummy candles, or a lovely cookbook. GP's new one is amazing! I also love something a tad more personal- like this "mum" necklace or Zodiac flats. Hope you find the perfect gift for your mom, and I wish her a great day. xx

 I love weekends that are filled with fun times, and activities.Yesterday, I went into the city for brunch with Katie. We ate at Sullivan's Bistro in Greenwich Village- the pancakes are yummy! Afterward, I walked around a little bit with my dad. I love the city when it's nice weather. If I will be walking around, and need an easy outfit, I always go with silk shorts or pants and a button down blouse. The combination is low maintenance and chic. I am also breaking in my new Jack Rogers, I always get a pair each year and by the end of Summer, they are completely and utterly dead and worn. Today, I went big boat sailing with my dad and a couple of family friends. It was the perfect end to the weekend.

I'm seriously in shock that it's May?! Summer is right away the corner- I only have 17 more days of school! Last month, I did a post on everything I felt inspired by. I thought I would do another one for May, let me know if you like them! This month, I am loving fresh flowers, Sunday brunch, and effortless style. I have always loved a good shirtdress. They are  perfect for the days when you want to look put together without tons of effort. I fell in love with this printed Club Monaco dress.  It cinches a little bit at the waist and the length is just right. Shirtdresses are also great for traveling. This August, my family and I going to Provence and St.Tropez for vacation. An easy shirtdress will be ideal for touring and walking around! You can pair them with easy flats and straw tote for day. At night, switch out flats for heeled sandals, and add a few baubles. I've included a few shirtdresses that I love below!
